Athari za Corona kwa uchumi wa Tanzania na Kenya,tunatokaje tulipo?

Ikiwa ni takribani miaka miwili tangu dunia ikumbwe na janga hatari la Ugonjwa hatari wa Corona,chumi za nchi nyingi duniani zimeyumba kwa kiasi kikubwa kutokana na gonjwa hilo kuzuia shughuli nyingi ambazo zinasaidia nchi hizo kujiingizia kipato,Nchi za Tanzania na Kenya zinazopatikana eneo la ukanda wa Afrika mashariki ni mojawapo kati ya maeneo yaliyopata madhara kutokana na kuyumba kwa shughiuli za kiuchumi kama vile sekta ya utalii ambayo ndio sekta inayotegemewa sana na nchi hizo.

Hali ya kiuchumi ikoje Tanzania?

Katika kuazimisha sikukuu ya wafanyakazi mei 1 mwaka huu Rais Samia Suluh Hassan aliwaeleza wafanyakazi kuwa hatoweza kuwapandisha madaraja ya utumishi kutokana na sababu kuwa uchumi wa nchi hiyo kuathiriwa vibaya na janga la Corona.

Uchumi wa nchi ya Tanzania umeporomoka kutoka 6.9% mwaka 2019/2020 hadi kufikia 4.7% mwaka huu 2021 huku sekta ya utalii ikiwa haifanyi vizuri kwa muda wa miaka miwili hadi sasa,mapato ya sekta hiyo yameshuka kutoka trilioni 2.7 hadi kufikia bilioni 598 huku ikikadiriwa ajira kutoka sekta hiyo kushuka kutoka 622,000 hadi 146,000 huku idadi ya watalii ikipungua kutoka 1,867,000 hadi 437,000.

Kwa upande mwingine kituo cha uwekezaji (Tanzania Investment Centre) katika moja ya ripoti take hivi karibuni kimeeleza kuwa idadi ya miradi ya uwekezaji imepungua nchini kutokana na athari za janga la virusi vya Corona duniani hatua ambayo imezorotesha upatikanaji wa ajira mpya ambazo zilitegemewa kupatikana katika kipindi hiki.

Ripoti hiyo pia imeangazia pia sekta ya utalii na kuonesha kuwa imezalisha ajira kwa kiwango cha chini cha asilimia 13 kutoka January hadi machi mwaka huu hali ambayo inadumaza afya ya uchumi wa taifa hilo.

Hali ya kiuchumi nchini Kenya

Licha ya jitihada zinazoendelea kufanywa na serikali ya Kenya kupitia Rais wa nchi hiyo Mhe.Uhuru Kenyatta hali ya uchumi wa nchi hiyo imeendelea kudorora kuliko kawaida,ni dhahiri kuwa Covid-19 haijaliacha salama taifa hill kwenye sekta zake za kiuchumi.

 

Uchumi wa Kenya unakadiriwa kuwa umeshuka kwa 1.4% kutoka 5.4% mwaka 2020 ambapo pia inakadiriwa kuwa kwa mwaka huu 2021 uchumi utakua kwa 5.0% kwa mwaka huu  na 5.9% kwa mwaka 2022 kiwango ambacho ni kidogo ukilinganisha na miaka iliyopita,hali hii imechagizwa na kudorora kwa hali ya utalii na kuzorota kwa uzalishaji wa viwanda nchini humo.

Deni la taifa linaonekana kupaa kutoka 61% mwaka 2019 hadi kufikia 72% mwaka 2020 huku shirika la IMF likidokeza kuwa huenda taifa hilo likaelemewa na madeni yake kwa sababu ya janga la Corona ishara ambayo sio nzuri kwa hali ya kiuchumi ya taifa hilo.

Tunatokaje tulipo?

Mataifa haya mawili yanatakiwa kuweka vipaumbele muhimu  katika kunyanyua uchumi kwa kuwekeza kwa kiasi kikubwa kwenye sekta kama vile kilimo,mawasiliano na usafirishaji ili kuweza kukabiliana na hali mbaya ya kiuchumi inayozikumba kwa kipindi hiki, sekta hizi ni muhimu sana kwa kipindi hiki kwani zinaonekana kutoathirika sana na janga hili la Corona.

Jitihada za pamoja kati ya mataifa haya mawili zinahitajika pia hasa katika kuondoa kero zilizopo kwenye mipaka ya nchi hizo licha ya kuwa zinatatuliwa na kujirudia baada ya kipindi kifupi,hii itasaidia wafanyabiashara kuweza kutafuta masoko nje ya nchi zao lakini pia itasaidia kuwavutia wawekezaji hasa katika ukanda huu wa Afrika mashariki.
