
Evans Exaud
Evans Exaud is a dedicated researcher and policy analyst with expertise in public policy, economic research, and international affairs. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Liberty Sparks, a research and education institute that promotes economic empowerment through free-market policies in Tanzania and across Africa.
Evans has received multiple international awards, including the African Liberty Award (twice), the Think Tank Shark Tank Award, the Light Liberty Camera Award, and the Women’s Economic Empowerment Award. He was recently nominated for the 2024 African Liberty Award by Atlas Network. In 2023, he was selected among the top three in the Smart Bet Competition in New York. Other notable achievements include winning the Best Strategic Plan Development award in Warsaw, Poland, in 2022. Evans was also named a Top 50 Global Leader by Students for Liberty in 2018 and was recognized as one of the Most Promising Founders by FOYA.
Currently, Evans is pursuing a Master of Research and Public Policy at the University of Dar es Salaam and an LL.B at the Open University of Tanzania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Dodoma and has completed leadership, management, and policy training through programs such as the Atlas Leadership Academy and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, among others.
Evans has made significant contributions to policy research, book translations, and public policy dialogues. His notable research includes tax reform proposals, studies on cross-border trade, Tanzania’s economic freedom audits, and research on women’s land rights. He has also been involved in the translation of several key economic and governance books, including “Adam Smith: A Primer”, “Introduction to Entrepreneurship”, “Introduction to Democracy”, and “The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible”.
As an influential speaker, Evans has participated in major international policy forums, including the African Liberty Forum (held in Kenya, Ghana, Burundi, and Nigeria), the Liberty Forum (Washington, D.C., New York), and the Great Lakes Trade Summit (Uganda). His expertise has also been recognized through his board membership at the Manson Institute for Leadership and Education (Malawi) and his role as an Executive Board Member of African Students for Liberty.
