Journalism for Liberty Training -Tanzania

Guiding Star With the current trend of Africa threat to free press system, we are looking to train mid-career journalist and media practitioners on pro-freedom reporting, using tools and knowledge-based ideas on liberty and individual freedom, mentoring them to create real stories that seeks to address government policies that hinders on pro-freedom ideas. Our current focus is on the Tanzania reporting and writing landscape.

This program is for you if:

  • You are a mid-career journalist or media practitioner with a minimum of 2 years of experience based in Tanzania.
  • You are committed to journalistic excellence and upholding the principles of a free press.
  • You believe in the power of free markets and limited government to create a more prosperous and just society.

The program will provide you with:

  • Online training: Gain a strong foundation in pro-liberty principles like property rights, free trade, individualism, and limited government.
  • Op-ed writing and reporting: Learn how to craft compelling op-eds and reports that address government policies hindering individual freedom.
  • Mentorship: Receive guidance from experienced journalists and pro-liberty advocates.
  • In-person workshop (Dar es Salaam, July 13th): The top 20 participants will be selected to attend an intensive in-person workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where they will hone their skills and network with fellow journalists.
  • Fellowship opportunity: The top participants from the workshop will be offered a prestigious 6-month fellowship with the Liberalist to further develop their pro-liberty reporting skills.
