GLOBAL TRADE AND MARKET ACCESS STRATEGIES WORKSHOP

Trade logistics play a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness of companies globally. Effective trade depends on efficient logistics, and the reverse is equally true. However, in Africa, logistical and other barriers to cost-effective trade remain significantly prevalent. Recognizing this challenge, the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS), in collaboration with Liberty Sparks, proudly introduces the International Trade Center (ITC) Trade Map and Market Access Map. These advanced data analysis tools are utilized by researchers, government agencies, NGOs, and the commercial sector worldwide to conduct comprehensive and insightful analyses of trade statistics, tariffs, non-tariff measures (NTMs), and market access forecasts.

More specifically, the workshop will enable the participants:

  1. To understand the harmonized system product classification
  2. To assess the attractiveness of the target markets using trade map
  3. To understand market access conditions – tariffs and Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs)
  4. To demonstrate practical application of tariffs and NTMs
  5. To analyze the Rules of Origin (RoO) and understand how they are practically applied in the context of trade preferences.
  6. To enhance the participants’ understanding of export potentials amid logistic challenges.
