Economic Stakeholders Meeting 2025
The Economic Stakeholder Meeting is a strategic multi-sectoral dialogue convened to assess and identify actionable pathways for enhancing Tanzania’s position in the Economic Freedom of the World (EFW) Index. This high-level discussion brings together a diverse group of stakeholders from government ministries, regulatory agencies, private sector associations, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.
A key highlight of the meeting will be the presentation of the Inception Report by a dedicated team of researchers led by Dr. Samwel Alananga, which will provide a detailed analysis of Tanzania’s current EFW Index performance. The report outlines key findings, challenges, and priority areas for reform under the five core pillars: Size of Government, Legal System and Property Rights, Sound Money, Freedom to Trade Internationally, and Regulation.
The meeting aims to foster evidence-based policy dialogue and stimulate collaboration on reform strategies that promote competitiveness, transparency, and inclusive economic growth. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to review institutional gaps, contribute insights, and co-create policy recommendations that align with national development priorities.
This event is part of Liberty Sparks’ Improved Tanzania Economic Freedom Country Audit Program, which seeks to raise Tanzania’s EFW score by at least 1.5% by 2030. Through transparent engagement and collective action, this platform supports the creation of a freer, fairer, and more prosperous Tanzanian economy for all citizens.
